ArteFill
If you are suffering unwanted lines and wrinkles, Artefill promises the longest lasting results of all the dermal fillers on the U.S. market. This enduring dermal filler is made with smooth polymethyl-methacrylate microspheres suspended in bovine collagen—a component that is not absorbed by the body—that allows for long-lasting wrinkle correction.

Facial cosmetic surgeon Dr. Craig Jonov occasionally recommends Artefill treatment to help lift and add volume to the face when a longer-lasting filler is appropriate.
ArteFill is best for:
- Nasolabial folds
- Radial upper lip lines
- Glabellar frown lines
- Marionette lines (mouth corners)
What to Expect During Artefill Treatment
You will have a personal consultation with Dr. Jonov to determine whether Artefill treatment is right for you. A skin test is required to make sure that you are not allergic to the bovine collagen component in ArteFill.
During the skin test, Dr. Jonov will inject a minute amount of the collagen under the skin. You will have to wait 4 to 6 weeks after the injection to make sure you have no reaction, and are not allergic to either the bovine-based collagen products, or lidocaine (the anesthetic).
During the actual Artefill procedure, Dr. Jonov will administer a topical anesthetic or local to improve your comfort. Using a syringe with a half-inch long needle, the filler is injected by Dr. Jonov using a special technique.
After ArteFill Treatment
You will see immediate results after your Artefill injection, and your body will naturally break down the injected collagen for the next few months. Minor swelling can occur, but this typically only lasts 12 to 24 hours. You may also experience pink coloration near the injection site/s for a few days. Dr. Jonov will address any itching, swelling, sensitivity or other possible side effects.
