Neck Contouring in Seattle
Aging, genetics, and lifestyle choices can all lead to changes in your neck. Sagging skin and unwanted fat, which often appear over time, can hide the youthful angles of your jaw.
Fortunately, Dr. Jonov performs surgery to improve appearance of your neck. A neck lift is one of the ways in which Dr, Jonov can reverse signs of aging and give you a more youthful appearance.
Who’s a Candidate for Neck Lift Surgery?
A neck lift is similar to a facelift. Also known as cervicoplasty or platsymaplasty, the neck lift is designed to address sagging tissue that hangs below your chin. Good candidates have hanging jowls, drooping neck tissue, neck bands or excess neck fat.
Good candidates also have realistic expectations for the outcome. If you’re considering a neck lift, you should be a healthy, non-smoker, and be motivated to improve your appearance.
How it Works
A neck lift is usually performed using a general anesthetic. The procedure requires about 1-2 hours. Dr. Jonov will perform incisions that travel around the earlobe and then into your hairline. He removes fatty tissue and loose skin, while tightening the sagging neck muscles. Dr. Jonov will then close the incisions with sutures and cover them with a dressing and tape.
What to Expect After Surgery
After neck lift surgery, you will be sent home with specific post-operative instructions. We will instruct you to keep your head elevated and wear compression garments for up to three weeks. The day after your surgery, you will be able to shower and wash your hair. You should avoid exertion for as long as instructed, which is usually at least two weeks.
