What to Expect During Juvederm Treatment

You will have a personal consultation with Dr. Jonov to determine whether Juvederm treatment is right for you.

During the procedure, Dr. Jonov injects the product beneath the skin using a special technique. Since Juvederm XC is premixed with lidocaine anesthetic, a compound that can significantly reduce the pain of the injection, medication is often not necessary.

Typically, 1 to 2 syringes of Juvederm are used during each treatment, and minor imperfections and signs of aging are softened very evenly anywhere from 6 months to 1 year.

After Juvederm Treatment

With Juvederm there is minimal recovery or downtime. For the first 24 hours following treatment, you should avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure, and consumption of alcoholic beverages in order to help minimize the risks of temporary redness, swelling, and/or itching at the treatment sites. After the treatment, some temporary injection-related reactions may occur, including redness, pain, firmness, swelling, and bumps. Typically any reaction experienced by patients only lasts for a few hours to a few days, and using an ice pack at the injection site can relieve any swelling.
