Seattle Body Contouring - Brachioplasty & Arm Lift Surgery

Seattle Body Contouring - Arm Lift & Thigh Lift

Arm Lift

Also known as Brachioplasty, arm lift surgery removes excess skin and fat from the upper arm area. The natural aging process, gravity, and weight fluctuation causes skin to lose tone and elasticity. Liposuction alone can improve the contour of the arms when skin tone is good and excessive fat is the primary problem. If hanging skin is present along with excessive fat, an arm lift may be necessary. The arm lift procedure usually involves both liposuction and the removal of excessive skin to contour and surgically tighten the underside of the arm.

Arm lift is performed on an outpatient basis under local with sedation or general anesthesia. Recovery typically takes one to two weeks, depending upon the extent of work done. Most patients can return to work after 2 weeks, though strenuous activity should be avoided for longer. To protect the incisions after surgery, a dressing and elastic support may be needed.

Thigh Lift

The combined effects of aging, gravity, fluctuations in weight and loss of skin elasticity all contribute to the lack of tone in the thighs. This loss of tone can cause the skin to sag or lose the smooth appearance of an earlier age. Along with sagging skin, the thighs can be an area of fat collection. For many individuals, in particular women, the fatty deposits do not respond to weight loss or exercise. Liposuction alone can improve the contour of the thighs when skin tone is good and excessive fat is the primary problem. The thigh lift procedure usually involves both liposuction and the removal of excessive skin from either the inner or outer thigh or both. A Thigh Lift is designed to improve contour while tightening the skin.

Like arm lift surgery, a thigh lift is performed on an outpatient basis under local with sedation or general anesthesia. Patients experience swelling and pain for the first few days after surgery; the pain will be managed through pain medication. Most swelling will recede after 2 to 3 weeks, though some may remain for several months. Patients typically return to work after 2 weeks, though strenuous activity should be avoided for at least the first month.
