The best Smart Lipo candidates for liposuction are healthy non-smokers who are not obese. What to Expect During SmartLipo
You will have a personal consultation with Dr. Jonov to determine whether Smart Lipo is right for you.
In addition to the 1064nm laser wavelength utilized by the original Smart Lipo laser liposuction system that targets fat cells, improves skin tone and promotes collagen, Dr. Jonov will also incorporate Smart Lipo’s 1319nm laser wavelength that will speed fat extraction and promote skin tightening.
The entire Smart Lipo procedure will take approximately 45 minutes to an hour, per treated area and may require local anesthesia. While body shaping with Smart Lipo typically only takes one treatment with permanent results, sometimes touch-up treatments are recommended to achieve desired results.
Recovery After Smart Lipo Surgery
Recovery after Smart Lipo is brief for most patients and requires only a day or two of downtime. However, if your job requires vigorous activity or heavy lifting, you may need to take as much as a week off before returning to work.
Depending on your needs, you may also need to wear a compression garment to reduce swelling and help dispel remaining anesthetic fluid from your body in the days following your treatment. Most swelling, bruising, numbness and any other common side effects should resolve within a few weeks; however lumps and bumps that occur after Smart Lipo may take a few months to improve. It is important to remember that it typically takes several months to see your final Smart Lipo results as your tissues will be shifting and firming.
