A Brazilian butt lift is a plastic surgery that enlarges the buttocks and can create the desired shape. During the procedure, Dr. Jonov liposuctions fat from one or more areas of the body and transfer it into the buttocks. At a consultation, many patients ask, “What are side effects of a Brazilian butt lift?”
The side effects of a BBL are similar to that of other fat transfer surgeries. Swelling at the liposuction site and the transfer site is normal. Some discomfort and pain are expected after surgery. Dr. Jonov will prescribe pain medications to manage this and an antibiotic to prevent infection.
Bruising is another side effect some patients see. Any bruising usually resolves within a week after surgery. You can prevent bruising by avoiding certain over-the-counter painkillers like ibuprofen and Aspirin. Following Dr. Jonov’s pre-operative instructions will also aid in mitigating bruising.
When patients ask, “What are side effects of a Brazilian butt lift?” they may also want to know about complications. Major complications due to a Brazilian butt lift are rare when performed by an expert cosmetic surgeon like Dr. Jonov. During your consultation, Dr. Jonov can discuss the side effects and risks of a BBL procedure.
