Our master estheticians can create a customized treatment plan and product recommendations based on your specific goals, needs, and concerns. The master estheticians at The Gallery of Cosmetic Surgery provide the best complimentary skin consultation Bellevue and Kirkland offers.

Overview: What Is Done During A Complimentary Skin Consultation?

When you come in for a skincare consultation with a master esthetician at The Gallery of Cosmetic Surgery, there are three primary phases to the appointment. First, your master esthetician will want to know specifically about your biggest concerns. From there, they may ask about your current skincare routine and lifestyle such as if you smoke.

Next, your master esthetician will want to understand your medical history, including any skin conditions you have. However, they will also want to know about non-skin conditions you may have because these can also affect your skin and its treatment. For example, someone with diabetes will likely have a different treatment plan than someone without it.

Finally, your master esthetician will closely examine your skin. This will include what is visible, the texture, and more subtle aspects of the skin such as tone differences, sun damage, and hyperpigmentation.

Conditions & Concerns We Can Treat

Master estheticians are qualified to administer esthetic treatments to aid in the treatment of certain skin conditions. While many of these are cosmetic, they can also be related to or be classified as a medical condition. Some of the conditions and concerns our master estheticians can address include:

  • Acne
  • Acne Scars
  • Melasma
  • Rosacea
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Surgical Scars
  • Fine Lines
  • Wrinkles
  • Stretch Marks
  • Loss of Skin Elasticity
  • Sun Damage
  • Dry Skin
  • Oily Skin
  • Rough Texture
  • General Aging

This is not an exhaustive list. If you have a concern you believe may benefit from professional skincare, you can schedule a completely free skin consultation. In addition to evaluating your skin, they can let you know if surgery or injections may better fit your needs.

Offered Treatments & Services

The Gallery of Cosmetic Surgery provides several professional esthetic treatments to help both better and beautify your skin. Your master esthetician may recommend some of the ones seen below, which consist of our most popular procedures. Though, there are other plenty of others they may recommend based on your consultation.

Microneedling

Microneedling—also called collagen induction therapy—creates tiny pinpricks in the surface of the skin. However, due to the nature of the procedure, the body responds to the treatment by beginning a healing response. This healing response will include creating more collagen, elastin, and even may address damaged skin. A common indication for microneedling is to help fill in and restore lost volume due to acne scarring.

However, microneedling is an extremely versatile treatment that is safe for all skin tones and skin types. Thus, it is also used to treat fine lines and wrinkles, rough skin texture, and tone irregularities.

Radiofrequency (RF) Microneedling

Radiofrequency microneedling adds radiofrequency treatment to traditional microneedling. This allows the treatment to penetrate deeper levels of the skin. People do come to our master estheticians with skin concerns that go beyond the surface or more advanced aging. RF microneedling is a great option to help improve the appearance of the skin.

Chemical Peel

Chemical peels are one of the more well known professional skincare treatments. Essentially, a chemical peel is a type of prescription exfoliation treatment. It is similar to exfoliating masks but uses specific acids to help remove dead skin and resurface the skin.

Almost anyone can benefit from an occasional chemical peel, though, certain patients may find more benefit from them. For example, patients with concerns about acne or aging may want to integrate chemical peels into their routine. In contrast, someone with some irritating conditions should not undergo chemical peels.

VI Peel

The VI Peel is a type of specialized chemical peel that reduces side effects and peeling, while still offering the results of a medium peel. It also has peels specifically formulated for acne and aging. Therefore, it is a great option if either of those is one of your top concerns.

Oxygen Facial

An oxygen facial is a lighter skin treatment that helps maintain and nourish your skin. Skin maintenance is also important for preventing aging and reducing the likelihood of certain skin conditions. An oxygen facial treatment uses highly pressurized oxygen to add oxygen lost due to environmental factors. It is gentle enough to be repeated every few weeks.

Intense Pulsed Light

Intense pulsed light—more commonly known as IPL—is commonly used to treat rosacea and other skin conditions related to redness or pigmentation issues. However, IPL treatment can also carry anti-aging benefits. Thus, also making it a good fit for patients wanting to treat certain signs of aging.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser skin resurfacing is one of the more aggressive treatments that a master esthetician can perform. Using a non-ablative, fractionated laser, portions of the skin are damaged within a controlled environment. This forces your skin to repair it as well as the skin overall. Multiple treatments can make major improvements to the skin.

Laser Hair Removal

While not necessarily an issue, hairless skin is a common goal among patients. Laser hair removal is considered one of the most effective and safest ways to permanently reduce hair growth. This can also reduce irritation due to shaving or other routine hair removal methods.

Laser Tattoo Removal

Laser tattoo removal uses a specialized laser to break up the pigment particles in the tattoo ink. Over time and several treatments, your body will slowly absorb and metabolize these broken-up particles to help fade the tattoo.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Is The Difference Between A Master Esthetician & An Esthetician?

The major difference between a master esthetician and an esthetician is that a master esthetician attended more schooling and training. This included learning about medical treatments, skin conditions, and treating skin conditions with esthetic procedures. Many master estheticians are also medical assistants. In general, not only do they have more training, but they undergo more medically focused training.

What Kinds Of Questions Will I Be Asked?

Your master esthetician may ask you a series of questions about your skin concerns, medical history, and lifestyle. Some are routine, while others may be more individualized. Some of the possible questions you may encounter during your complimentary skincare consultation include:

  • What does your normal skin routine look like?
  • Do you typically wear sunscreen every day?
  • What medications do you currently take?
  • Are you pregnant or trying to conceive?
  • What are your primary concerns?
  • What kind of treatments or products are you interested in or looking for?
  • Are you physically active?
  • Have you seen any recent changes that concern you?

Do not be afraid to ask your master esthetician any questions you may have. Additionally, if you have documented skin or medical conditions, it can sometimes be helpful to take pictures of any medication labels. Some medications can interfere with certain treatments such as laser procedures or chemical peels.

Am I Obligated To Schedule A Service Afterward?

No, while our master estheticians may recommend treatment options or products that we provide, you are not obligated to book any following your free skin consultation. The consultation aims to encourage patients to better understand their skin and help them on their journey to reach their skin goals.

Can I Have A Treatment On The Same Day As My Consultation?

For specific procedures, yes, however, some procedures cannot be performed on the same day. Possible same day treatments can include an oxygen facial, laser hair removal, laser tattoo removal, and a traditional facial. Same day treatments are not guaranteed until your consultation because the recommended treatments can vary upon examination.

Additionally, microneedling and some chemical peels may require that you stop using retinol or other preparations. Thus, these are not available on the same day as your complimentary skin consultation for most patients.

I had a wonderful consultation with Kyla! Her knowledge and expertise were extremely helpful. She was thorough and helped educate me with what treatments would be most effective with my needs. I appreciated her guidance and professionalism!

I love this place. I see Heather for laser hair removal. She’s the best. She’s very sweet, always does a great job , and very fun to talk to. I have had it done many times other places but i saw significant hair deductions after my first visit. So glad i found her.

Never thought plastic surgery included Tattoo Removal. I’ve been going for the past few months getting a tattoo removed on my chest and couldn’t have more positive things to say. The master estheticians are professional, efficient, and extremely fun to be around. My experience there has felt similar to a high end boutique than a doctors office which includes the lack of sterile-like scrubs. They definitely treat you more than a patient. Highly recommend and will continue to go there after my tattoo removal sessions.
