Endoscopic Brow Lift Bellevue & Kirkland

Brow lift surgery is only second to facelifts as one of the most sought anti-aging facial plastic surgeries. Brow lifts address sagging and aging in the upper third of the face and there are multiple surgical techniques. The most popular among both plastic surgeons and patients have become the endoscopic brow lift. This technique is known to be less invasive and traumatic to the tissues while correcting most cases of brow ptosis. Dr. Craig Jonov at The Gallery of Cosmetic Surgery provides the best endoscopic brow lift Bellevue and Kirkland offers.

Overview: All About Brow Aging

The first signs of brow aging often appear sometime in the late twenties to early thirties. Vertical lines between the eyebrows and horizontal lines across the forehead often begin to form. They start out visible only with certain movements but may begin to become permanent regardless of expression.

From there, the eyebrows themselves often begin to move down towards the eye. This occurs for a few reasons such as loss of skin laxity, reduction in collagen production, loosening facial muscles, gravity, and genetics. Some people will see more sagging than others. Though, a brow lift can address moderate to severe brow sagging.

Prevention

First, while there are several ways to prevent brow aging, it is not one hundred percent avoidable. Aging is inevitable. However, there are ways you can slow and disguise aging. Below are some of the ways you can prevent brow aging.

  • Botox injections (can also correct mild brow ptosis)
  • Radiofrequency microneedling
  • Chemical peels
  • Wear sunscreen every day
  • Do not smoke
  • Laser resurfacing
  • Get enough sleep
  • Eat well and stay hydrated
  • Work with a plastic surgeon or master esthetician to create a treatment plan

Benefits & Risks Of Brow Lift Surgery

An endoscopic brow lift surgery carries many benefits for patients wanting to look younger and address brow ptosis. For patients who are experiencing brow sagging to a certain degree, brow lift surgery will almost always be the optimal treatment. The benefits of an endoscopic brow lift may include:

  • Elevation of brows into their proper position
  • Improved facial symmetry
  • More youthful appearance
  • Look more approachable and wake
  • Smoothing of forehead lines and wrinkles
  • Can help lift upper eyelids
  • Less invasive than other techniques
  • Hidden incisions and scars (no ear to ear incision)
  • Fewer complications than traditional brow lift methods
  • Quicker recovery
  • Less pain during recovery
  • Fewer side effects
  • Long lasting
  • Smaller incisions
  • Performed by an experienced plastic surgeon

All surgical procedures come with some degree of risk. The risk of complications during endoscopic brow lift surgery is exceptionally rare. Though, certain patients may be at increased risk of certain specific complications. Dr. Jonov will evaluate this during your consultation. The risks of endoscopic brow lift surgery can include:

  • Infection
  • Visible scarring
  • Nerve damage
  • Skin necrosis
  • Prolonged or severe side effects
  • Poor healing
  • Unsatisfactory result
  • Asymmetry

As mentioned above, risks and complications during or following an endoscopic brow lift in Bellevue are rare. Dr. Jonov will take all the necessary precautions to minimize risks and complications.

Endoscopic Brow Lift Before & After

Consultation With Dr. Jonov

The first step to undergoing an endoscopic brow lift is to attend a consultation appointment with Dr. Craig Jonov. At this appointment, he will want to know about your concerns with your appearance and goals for the procedure. Next, he will review your medical history and lifestyle. Finally, Dr. Jonov will physically examine your brow and face. During the exam, he will look at your skin laxity, any present wrinkles, and overall skin quality.

Following this consultation and examination, Dr. Jonov will recommend the treatment plan he believes will provide you with the best results. If he thinks you are a viable candidate for a brow lift, he will describe the surgery in detail.

Before leaving The Gallery of Cosmetic Surgery office, you will receive a finalized price quote and financing information. At this point, you can schedule your procedure.

Endoscopic Brow Lift Surgery

After you are properly anesthetized, Dr. Jonov will begin by making between three and five incisions behind your hairline. The incisions are smaller than traditional brow lift incisions—usually just a few centimeters long. They also do not connect into one incision. Once the incisions are created, Dr. Jonov will insert an endoscope which is a type of surgical camera. This allows Dr. Jonov to accurately perform your brow lift without added trauma or incisions.

Using the endoscope, Dr. Jonov will release the skin and pull it upward. He will remove the excess and may reposition the hairline to fit with the new contours of your forehead. Occasionally, he may tighten the underlying muscles. Dr. Jonov will then close the incisions.

Recovery & Aftercare

Patients often find the recovery following an endoscopic brow lift less painful and easier than expected. However, recovery experience will vary based on several factors specific to individual patients. Regardless, Dr. Jonov will provide you with aftercare instructions which may include:

  • Do not participate in strenuous activities
  • Avoid alcohol and taking anti-inflammatories
  • Do not smoke
  • Stay hydrated
  • Take light walks to promote circulation
  • Do not unnecessarily touch or massage the area
  • Elevate the head of the bed when sleeping and resting
  • Do not shower for the first 24 hours
  • Keep bandages on for the instructed amount of time (usually 24 hours)
  • Attend post-operative appointments
  • Do not return to work before cleared to do so

Frequently Asked Questions

Does An Endoscopic Brow Lift Leave Scars?

Endoscopic brow lift surgery is associated with minimal scarring. Any scarring is usually hidden by your hair. However, there is a small possibility of visible scarring. Dr. Jonov will discuss this with you during your consultation.

Will it Raise The Hairline?

Yes, most brow lift techniques involve slightly raising the hairline. Though, it should still look natural and is in line with the amount of lift given to your eyebrows. This also allows Dr. Jonov to hide the incisions within the hairline. If you have concerns about this, discuss your brow lift options with Dr. Jonov as there are cases where raising the hairline is not necessary to obtain a good result.

How Painful Is A Brow Lift?

During surgery, patients should not feel any pain, even if the procedure is performed under local anesthesia. Additionally, patients are often surprised by the minimal post-operative pain. While Dr. Jonov usually prescribes pain medications, some patients do not find them necessary.

For those who do experience post-operative pain, they often switch to over-the-counter pain relievers within two to three days. An endoscopic brow lift is generally not too painful.

Is An Endoscopic Brow Lift Permanent?

An endoscopic brow lift cannot stop the aging process. After your procedure, your brows will begin to age again. However, a brow lift sets the clock back and helps you look consistently younger than your peers for years to come. In general, patients can expect their results to last around ten years on average.

How Can I Maintain My Results?

While there is no way to make your brow lift results last forever, you can promote longer lasting results. A few ways to help enjoy your results longer include:

Even when you see your brow return to its original state, you will likely still look younger than people of the same age who did not have a brow lift performed. Thus, there are permanent effects associated with an endoscopic brow lift.

What Is The Cost Of Endoscopic Brow Lift In Bellevue?

A brow lift with Dr. Jonov at The Gallery of Cosmetic Surgery starts at $5,995. This does include anesthesia and facility fees. Specialized techniques or additional procedures may incur extra costs. The Gallery of Cosmetic Surgery does work with outside financing companies including Care Credit to help you find affordable financing for your procedure.
