Kybella: The Non-Surgical Solution to Your Double-Chin Problem

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

It can be very difficult to precisely target small pockets of fat on your body, even if you follow a healthy diet and you exercise regularly. This is why so many people find it incredibly difficult to get rid of their double chin.

A 2015 survey by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery found that 67% of the people they surveyed were unhappy with the appearance of their chin and jawline due to the presence of excess fat.

It is important to understand that you don’t need to be overweight to have a double chin. Although weight gain can cause a double chin to develop, genetics and the effects of aging also play significant roles.

Thanks to advancements in modern medicine, there is now a very easy and highly effective non-surgical option for eliminating a double chin. Kybella is an FDA-approved product specifically designed to eliminate fat underneath the chin.

Kybella’s formula includes a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid, a molecule that is naturally produced by the body. This molecule helps the body break down and absorb fat. When injected into the area under the chin, Kybella targets and permanently destroys the fat cells that make up a double chin.

If you are unhappy with your appearance because of your double chin, please contact The Gallery of Cosmetic Surgery today to schedule a consultation for your Kybella injections. We can provide you with the aesthetic care you need.

What Happens When a Breast Implant Ruptures?

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

The chances of experiencing an implant rupture after your breast augmentation procedure have been greatly reduced thanks to modern engineering, which has allowed of the creation of stronger and much more durable implants. However, implant ruptures can still occur for multiple reasons, such as:

  • Capsular contracture
  • Implant overfilling
  • Natural wear and tear
  • Physical trauma to the implant
  • Surgical damage

Different types of implant will produce different symptoms when a rupture occurs. Saline implants are filled with a sterile solution of saltwater. When a saline implant ruptures, the implant will be noticeably deflated and misshapen, as the saline solution will have leaked out and been absorbed by the body. The saline solution is not harmful to the body, but the silicone shell of the implant will need to be surgically removed.

Silicone implants are filled with silicone gel. This is denser than liquid saline, and because of this, you may not even notice if a rupture has occurred because no symptoms may be presented (known as a silent leak). In some cases, however, the breast shape may be affected. An MRI will need to be performed to determine if a silicone implant has ruptured. A ruptured silicone implant may also produce some pain and discomfort.

Gummy bear implants are a newer type of implant and are already quite popular. They’re made from a much more cohesive silicone gel than normal silicone implants. This gel is specifically designed to retain its shape after an implant rupture. Gummy bear implants also come with a much smaller risk of experiencing a rupture.

Each implant type offers its own set of benefits. During your initial consultation, cosmetic surgeon Dr. Craig Jonov will thoroughly discuss each option with you so that you can make an informed decision that will provide you with your ideal results. The Benefits of Laser Hair Removal

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Laser hair removal has made removing your unwanted body hair simple, quick, and pain-free. The technology behind the treatment is key for the outstanding results it provides.

During the process, a laser vacuum is placed on the surface of the skin. The laser vacuum will pull and stretch the skin so that it is thin enough for the laser energy to properly target the melanin within the hair. The heat emitted by the laser is absorbed by the hair follicle, which will damage it and significantly impede its ability to regrow hair.

Laser hair removal makes it much easier to maintain and manage your unwanted body hair. It permanently reduces the amount of hair that grows in the treated area so that is easier to groom the area using other methods. You can also receive additional treatments to remove any hairs that have grown after your initial procedure.

Traditional methods of hair removal like shaving and waxing can lead to significant discomfort and can cause issues like irritation and razor burn. These methods also require that you perform them on a routine basis, because their effects will typically last for only three days.

If laser hair removal sounds like the ideal solution to your unwanted body hair problems, contact The Gallery of Cosmetic Surgery to schedule a consultation for your laser hair removal treatment. We can provide you with the care and results you are looking for.

Rejuvenating the Tone, Texture, and Beauty of Your Skin with Microneedling

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Microneedling is a unique non-surgical skin-rejuvenation treatment that takes advantage of the skin’s natural healing process to deliver noticeable aesthetic improvements. It helps to improve the tone, texture, and appearance of your skin and is perfect for addressing acne, scars, age lines, and other aesthetic skin issues.

The treatment uses a special device that is equipped with a cluster of oscillating needles. The device is carefully passed over the skin, where it creates multiple tiny wounds on the skin’s surface.

These tiny wounds stimulate the production of collagen and elastin within the skin, two proteins that are essential for tight, strong, and healthy skin. The collagen and elastin produced by the treatment repair the skin and help to thicken the dermis, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and lines.

Microneedling can be performed on any area of the body and is safe and effective on all skin types, even sensitive skin. If microneedling sounds like the ideal procedure for restoring the smooth and radiant appearance of your skin, contact the Gallery of Cosmetic Surgery to schedule a consultation.

Liposuction – Traditional vs. VASER

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Traditional liposuction is performed by inserting a hollow tube known as a cannula into the body through several small incisions. Tumescent fluid is injected into the areas first to numb them, control bleeding, and make the removal of fat easier. The surgeon will manipulate the cannula to loosen the fat in the area so that it can be easily suctioned out.

Although this method is effective, stubborn fat can be difficult to remove. Removal can require more aggressive motions, which may lead to increased tissue damage, bruising, and swelling. The procedure is also incapable of addressing loose sagging skin.

VASER liposuction, known as ultrasound-assisted liposuction, also uses both a cannula and tumescent fluid. In addition to these, it features a special device that emits pulses of low-level ultrasound energy. VASER lipo is not laser lipo. The ultrasonic vibrations help to loosen up and break apart the fat cells without requiring the use of aggressive movements that can be traumatic to the body.

VASER has also been shown to help tighten the skin, which enhances the appearance of the body’s natural contours and creates a smoother body surface. Many patients find that VASER produces less post-operative discomfort and offers a shorter recovery period.

At The Gallery of Cosmetic Surgery, we are committed to providing our patients with the most advanced and effective procedures available that offer outstanding results through safe and highly effective methods. Contact our office to schedule a consultation for your liposuction procedure.

Breast Augmentation: High Profile vs. Moderate Plus Profile Implants

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Breast augmentation is a highly customizable procedure. The size of your implant, the type of implant used, the shape of your implant, and the amount of projection provided by the implant can all be adjusted to provide you with your ideal results.

The profile you choose for your breast implant is incredibly important. Profile refers to the amount of projection provided by the implant. In most cases, a moderate profile will be the ideal choice. A moderate plus profile offers the most natural-looking results and has a more balanced appearance in relation to the diameter of the implant. A moderate plus profile is fuller around the lower portion of the breast, which is closer to how natural breasts look.

High profile breast implants also provide beautiful results for patients who are interested in a rounder breast appearance with more prominent upper-body contours. A high profile implant has a narrower shape that projects noticeably farther from the chest than a moderate plus profile implant. This option is preferred by women who desire to have large and prominent breasts.

If you are interested in receiving a breast augmentation and would like to know which implant profile is best suited for your body, please contact The Gallery of Cosmetic Surgery for a complimentary consultation.

Brazilian Butt Lift vs. Gluteal Implants

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

There are two common approaches to butt augmentation: the traditional approach, which uses implants, and the Brazilian butt lift, which uses fat harvested from the patient’s body to improve the size and shape of the buttocks.

Many patients prefer the Brazilian butt lift over implants. Implants offer an excellent appearance, but they do not feel or look as natural as the results of a fat transfer. Some patients also prefer to have their natural tissue used rather than a foreign item like an implant. Additionally, there is a risk of implant displacement, capsular contracture, and seroma if implants are used.

The Brazilian butt lift procedure looks more natural because the harvested tissue comes from your own body. In addition to this, a Brazilian butt lift can improve your figure. The fat harvested from the procedure typically comes from areas like the back, flanks, or thighs. This creates a tighter and leaner figure with a small waist that accentuates the shape and curvaceous appearance of your new butt.

If the Brazilian butt lift sounds like your best option, contact The Gallery of Cosmetic Surgery to schedule a consultation.

Rhinoplasty Lynnwood

Rhinoplasty, also called nose surgery, is a procedure performed to improve the appearance of the nose. This nose reshaping surgery can help to not only improve the appearance of the nose itself, but the overall appearance of the patient’s face by improving the proportional facial balance and harmony. Common aesthetic complaints for the nose include: bumps and indentations, a nose bridge that is too wide or too narrow, and the angle between the nose and upper lip.

In addition to aesthetic concerns, Rhinoplasty can also be used to improve the function of the nose when there is an obstruction in the structure of the nose that is causing breathing issues. Rhinoplasty is performed either through an open approach or a closed approach–meaning the incision is made inside the nose (closed) or outside the nose (open).

Sculptra is a filler that can benefit both men and women who are looking for a long-lasting way to fill in moderate to deep wrinkles. Sculptra is administered via injection like Dermal Fillers. Unlike other Dermal Fillers, Sculptra results can last up to several years. It stimulates your skin’s own collagen production to reinforce the skins inner structure to restore volume. Sculptra is safe and effective for most skin types and the injections typically take 30 minutes. After receiving a Sculptra treatment, patients can expect some mild swelling and redness at the injection site which will subside in the hours following the procedure.
