Master Esthetician Kyla

Meet Master Esthetician Kyla Walker

By | Our Team, Nonsurgical
Kyla’s path to becoming a master esthetician started with her own skin problems. Growing up, she struggled with acne and spent long hours combing through the internet trying to find a treatment that would help cure her painful acne. This research eventually steered her toward medical aesthetics, which Kyla has now mastered.  Kyla’s aim is to provide her patients with the best care for their needs, and to work with them to come up with treatment protocols to help them look and feel their best. Her favorite part of being a master esthetician is showing patients their own before and afters because results are most noticeable after a progression of treatments.  Kyla’s favorite procedures are chemical peels. Chemical peels helped with her own acne. And, she loves that they have so many benefits including the treatment of pigmentation issues, acne, and skin texture. To schedule a consultation with Kyla, or one of the other master estheticians at The Gallery of Cosmetic Surgery, call us at 425-324-1120 or contact us online.
Woman Using Neti Pot For Nasal Irrigation After Rhinoplasty in Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland

The Importance Of Nasal Irrigation

By | PSA, Rhinoplasty
Nasal irrigation is a common practice for preventing and treating sinusitis, colds, and other related nasal problems. Regularly practicing nasal irrigation can help clear your sinuses and prevent infection, especially during allergy and cold seasons.  There are a variety of methods used to clean the sinuses and nasal passages. Saline sprays, neti pots, or more complex devices are all commonly used for irrigating the nose and sinuses. It is important to note that when using a neti pot or other at-home equipment you use it correctly and only with sterile water. Using tap water for nasal irrigation can increase the risk of infection. Though it may work, it is not worth the extra risk. When it comes to cosmetic surgery, we recommend nasal irrigation after rhinoplasty procedures to help clear nasal passages of blood and mucus. This helps prevent infection and keeps the areas clean. Again, the importance of using sterile water is imperative for safe and effective healing. By | Nonsurgical, Laser Hair Removal
Constantly buying razors that we throw away and spending extra time in the shower to make sure that we don’t miss a single hair adds up in the long run. However, there is an easier and much more cost effective way to make sure our skin is smooth and hairless. Laser hair removal performed by one our Master Estheticians removes hair and nearly guarantees that you will not see additional hair growth in the area. This means you will no longer have to buy disposable razors. Laser hair removal can be done in as little as 15 minutes. Our Master Estheticians can perform the procedure almost anywhere you have hair. The most popular locations for laser hair removal include: legs, bikini line, chin, and armpits. The fall and winter months are the best time for laser hair removal because after treatment your skin is more sensitive to the sun. With the cold weather and clouds, not only do we naturally receive less sun, but most people are covered up. This keeps your laser treated areas protected while you heal. How Exactly Does Botox Work?

By | BOTOX®, Injectables
You’ve most likely heard of Botox–the popular injectable that treats fine lines and wrinkles–and wondered how it works. Botox is a type of injectable known as a neuromodulator. Neuromodulators block neuron impulses that tell the facial muscles to constrict or react.  When you move your face through laughing, raising your eyebrows, or any other facial movement, these repeated movements can cause fine lines and wrinkles to form. This is where Botox comes in.  It is not just conscious movement that causes these, much of the movement that cause lines and wrinkles is unconscious “Like other muscles in your body, the muscles in your face develop habits. Some people habitually furrow their eyebrows, crinkle the corners of their eyes, favor one side of their face, or scowl. These regular muscle motions beneath the skin cause wrinkles to form on the facial surface.” – Seattle Plastic Surgery After Botox injections, when you perform these movements, the facial muscles do not respond in the same way. By relaxing your muscles, Botox can soften the look of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as prevent the formation of new ones.  A form of botulinum toxin A, Botox is not a permanent treatment. Within a few months, you will need another round of injections. This ensures the safety of injecting Botox, but with continued use, you may notice that new wrinkles are not forming.  You never have to worry about an unnatural look when your Botox injections are performed or supervised by Dr. Jonov. We also offer Botox with our qualified Nurse Injectors for a reduced price. Our Nurse Injectors all trained directly under our doctor and provide the same great results.
